1. Iris Awards 2023: Screenings of this year’s nominated films at the Astor Cinema

Just before the Awarding of this year’s Iris Film Awards, the Hellenic Film Academy invites us from Monday 5th to Sunday 11th June to the Astor cinema, to see the nominated films. In a week of Greek cinema, the Athenian audience has the opportunity to enjoy in their natural environment, the movie theater, a total of 35 fiction, documentary and animation films, long and short, that are vying for a golden Iris statuette. The 2023 Iris Awards will be awarded on Tuesday, June 27 at the Onassis Foundation Building, with actresses Natasha Exintaveloni and Lila Baklesis as presenters, directed by Constantis Fragopoulos.

2. Film Vision: Two films with one ticket every night at Asty cinema

The most important films screened and awarded at the Cannes, Venice and Berlin Film Festivals, as well as those that reached the Oscars as well as the classics that still fascinate us, are included in this year’s edition of Filmorama, which takes place from 25 May to 21 June , at Asty Cinema. The cinephile audience will have the opportunity to watch two films every day with a single ticket for the price of €5. At 6:30 p.m., the contemporary romantic tale of Alexander Komberitze “What we see when we look at the sky” will be shown, about two young people who meet by chance, fall in love and date the next day. A curse, however, changes their appearance. Continuation, at 21:00, with Chloe Zhao’s film “Running with the Dream” about a young rodeo champion who is faced with a serious injury.
