Age is not a problem for Suely Franco, 83, and Walter Breda, 74, actors from the cast of “Inexplicable”, which shoots scenes in Greater São Paulo this week. Behind the scenes of the feature film, directed by Fabrício Bittar, they spoke with F5 about the career limitations imposed by the passage of time.
The two are unanimous in stating that it is difficult to find work after a certain age. “It’s a matter of luck, but we do what we like, so what appears… is wonderful”, celebrates Suely, who recently played Marlene in “A Dona do Pedaço” (Globo).
In the soap opera, Marlene was the grandmother of Josiane, a character played by Agatha Moreira. In the current film, there is another grandmother to the account — this time, the protagonist Gabriel (Miguel Venerabile, from “Mar do Sertão”). Breda plays Grandpa. In short, an old couple. Nothing against it, both guarantee.
They are fine like that, but they count that small aesthetic procedures, who knows? might even be a good idea. “Some things I would do. Harmonization, no. It would be very bad. I would remove the pockets here around the eyes and cut the belly out”, enumerates Suely.
The subject of “facial harmonization” then enters the debate and, at first, the two avoid their opinion on Stênio Garcia, who has been pointed out as an example of someone who would have passed the point in the search for facial rejuvenation.
They prefer not to go into the merits of the question about the actor’s procedure, which he said was motivated by the hope that a rejuvenated appearance would help him return to the market. “It was Stênio’s decision, so it’s up to him to say what he thought… but if necessary, I might do it. I’d like to have another 20 years to live, that’s for sure,” said Breda.
