Another chapter of the legal fight between Hollywood stars Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt has been announced. After the actress accused her ex-husband of “looting” the Château Miraval property, the actor now says that the ex-wife organized a sale of part of the winery and breached an agreement.
The former couple acquired Château Miraval, located in the Provence region of France, in 2008. In 2014, the actors’ wedding took place at the property, which is a winery known for producing high-quality wines. In 2016, the breakup of Hollywood stars took place.
According to the portal The Blast, Pitt accuses Jolie of selling part of the enterprise to a Russian oligarch, disregarding an alleged verbal agreement between them not to abdicate participation without mutual consent.
“Jolie and Nouvel (development company) were required not to sell interest in the family’s private home and wine business without Brad’s consent. However, they did so secretly, through an alleged sale to Tenute del Mondo, an entity controlled by Russian oligarch Yuri Shetler,” the document states.
The actress says that Pitt and his partners owe more than US$ 350 million (about R$ 1.68 billion) in leisure reforms at the winery. Lawyers claim Pitt acted like a “petulant child” while engaging in a “shameless attempt to make money”.
There are still accusations of Jolie against Pitt, who would have attacked her during a flight with the children. This alleged aggression was exposed in court proceedings over the future of the winery, which they bought together for €25 million in 2008. According to court documents, the business generated more than €15 million in profits in 2022 alone.
