Participant of the MasterChef Professionals 2022 program, Wilson Cabral Nunes died this Friday (21), aged 40. The cook had a car accident in Sorocaba on the 14th and had been hospitalized ever since. His death information was confirmed by family members on social media.
Born in Rio de Janeiro, Wilson was a specialist in food from the south of the United States, where he lived for six years during his adolescence. Semifinalist of the reality gastronomy show, he was eliminated by participant Diego Sacilotto, champion of the season. After the end of the program, Wilson opened a restaurant specializing in barbecued ribs, in Sorocaba, with Hichel, a former participant in the same edition.
Sacilotto honored him on Instagram: “You taught me honesty and respect in a dispute, and you proved that a dream should never be left aside (…). You were a loyal opponent, a faithful friend and an unwavering cook. I will miss you a lot”. The cook is survived by his wife and a 9-year-old son, Arthur. It was the boy, by the way, who asked his father to sign up for the reality show because he considered his food “the best in the world”. Information about Wilson’s burial was not released at the time of publication of this report.
