Shakira still hasn’t forgiven Gerard Piqué’s betrayal and every now and then takes the opportunity to take a dig at her ex and expose the behind-the-scenes of the controversial separation in April 2022. The Colombian singer released a new song called “El Jefe” [“O Chefe”, em tradução literal]and is yet another hint at the Spanish since the track is dedicated to the nanny who discovered the infidelity and was even fired.
In the lyrics, Shakira mentions the nanny’s name Lili Melgar. Her daughter, Dariana Melgar, went online and reinforced the theory. “Despite everything, my mother continues to work with Shakira,” she posted.
“Lili Melgar, this song is for you, because they didn’t pay your compensation. Another bullshit, as always”, says Shakira in the song. Lili even makes a small cameo in the music video released this Wednesday (20).
The artist also pokes fun at Piqué’s father, Joan Rovira, in the song in partnership with the Mexican musical group Force Ruled. “They say that there is no evil that lasts more than a hundred years. But my ex-father-in-law is still around, without giving a damn”, says an excerpt of the lyrics. It is worth remembering that there are rumors that the player’s parents helped him cover up his extramarital affair with Clara Chía.
Shakira and Piqué were married for 11 years and have two children: Milan, 10, and Sasha, 8. “El Jefe” is not the Colombian’s first song dedicated to her ex: in January, she released “BZRP Music Sessions #53 “, in which she is very clear about infidelity. “I’m worth two out of 22 [anos]. You traded a Ferrari for a Twingo”, she sings in reference to Clara’s age, now 23 years old.
