Twelfth Night or Whatever You Desire, directed by Yiannis Kakleas at the Art Theater
THE “Twelfth Night” by William Shakespeare, 68 years after its first presentation by Karolos Kuhn, it comes alive again in the historic Basement from October 2023, in a co-production of the Art Theatre. The issues of sexual identity and gender fluidity that so strongly preoccupy our time are illuminated in a revealing way in this unique, dreamlike comedy that talks about the power, madness and passions of love.

Cheetah. The wilderness of the goalkeeper, directed by Ermina Kyriazis and Giorgos Niniou for the 2nd year at the Stathmos Theater
The new theatrical monologue by Vassilis Katsikonouris, “Cheetah. The wilderness of the goalkeeper”, is repeated for a limited number of performances. The performer and director Ermina Kyriazi and the actor Giorgos Ninios join forces to tell a story full of humor and emotion with its main themes being male loneliness and frustration, but together with a deep sense of dignity, as a compass and as the ultimate victory in despite defeat and decay.

Happy Days, by Samuel Beckett at the Olvio Theatre
Samuel Beckett’s masterpiece, “Happy Days”, is staged, at the Olvio theater, for only 10 performances, directed by Dimitris Kanellou with Natasa Papamikhail and Yannis Economidis (Johnny O) in the leading roles. Winnie, buried in the wreckage of her life, in a vast universe, tries to “go about her day”. He talks incessantly. Willy crawls around and makes sense of Winnie’s voice, because someone is listening. She does not speak alone in the wilderness.
