Globo decides to take down airing of Luísa Sonza’s leaked interview on Fantástico

Globo decided this Thursday (14) to no longer show an interview with Luísa Sonza recorded in October for Fantástico. The material was leaked onto the internet the same week.

The information was confirmed by Globo when F5. “Due to an editorial decision by the program, Luisa Sonza’s participation in Fantástico will no longer be shown,” said the statement.

The decision was made because the program’s management understood that the conversation with Poliana Abritta was delayed due to the release of the singer’s documentary on Netflix, which addresses several topics discussed in the interview. The production “Se Eu Fosse Luísa Sonza” premiered on the platform on Wednesday (13).

The interview caused controversy because Luísa refused to talk about the accusation of racism against her that ended up in court. The case took place at the Rio Court of Justice and only became known in 2020.

And the case would have happened in 2018, at an event in Fernando de Noronha. Lawyer Isabel Macedo, who is black, says that the singer asked her to get a glass of water. The singer reportedly insisted: “Don’t you work here?” The action, which became known in 2020, was finalized in August 2023, after a legal agreement between the parties.

Luísa spoke publicly about the episode only once, on her social network, in October 2022, when she recanted. “I’m treating this situation as an opportunity to try to be better.”

During the Fantástico recording, Luísa was asked about the subject by Poliana, and was visibly uncomfortable. She said she would talk about the subject in her documentary.

The recording was leaked on the internet, which took away its originality. Initially scheduled to air in October, the program’s production team chose to permanently shelve the conversation.
