A feminist role model that paved the way for women writers
On this day, 141 years ago, a woman was born who left history as one of the most important personalities in the history of literature, h Virginia Woolf. A woman far ahead of her time, who through her great literary work, but also her life, paved the way for all women who dreamed of a life beyond the limits imposed on them by society.
Through the stories he talked about sexuality -but without speaking “unabashedly” about it, as she had accused James Joyce and other contemporaries-, about the injustices and limitations experienced by women in her time, but also about more modern issues, which are still considered topical , as is the fluidity of gender and gender identity, more simply for gender fluid individuals.
In fact, her themes were so ahead of her time that the widely read work of today’s famous Virginia Woolf was not recognized until 50 years after her novels were published.
Today, 141 years after her birthwe remember the independent, determined and always creative Virginia Woolf, who touched on issues that remain relevant to this day.
