French basketball star Victor Uebanyama is the new ambassador for Louis Vuitton.
The power forward known as ‘Wemby’ takes on the role as an official ambassador for the French house and joins the list of top athletes working with Louis Vuitton, including tennis players Carlos Alcarath, Naomi Osaka, skier Eileen Gu and swimmer Leon Marchand.
In his new role, Victor Uebaniyama will represent the brand at key events and appear in its advertising campaigns.
“I wanted a significant partnership,” Uebaniyama said.
“For me it means a lot to work with LV – you know, French excellence,” he stressed.
“I don’t know what happens in other countries, but in France it is the most important brand for young people. Especially with what Virgil Abloh did,” he said.
The 20-year-old, who has already broken major records for the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA, has already amassed a large fan base, with 3.6 million followers on Instagram.
The athlete previously played for the French Metropolitans 92 and stated that he hopes to compete with the French national team at the Olympic Games in Paris.
