George Harrison and Eric Clapton’s love letters for affair go on sale

by

Model Pattie Boyd, now 79 years old, will put up for sale at auction the romantic letters she used to receive from two music stars: George Harrison (1943-2001) and Eric Clapton, 79. She had relationships with both of them.

According to the Telegraph, the letters can cost up to R$94,000. The auction is scheduled to take place between March 15th and 21st, in London.

Pattie first began dating Harrison in the 1960s. “He was quite shy, like me. I think that’s why we got along,” she said in an interview published on the auction house’s website. They got married in 1966.

In one of the letters that will be auctioned, the guitarist declares himself to her. “I hope you’re doing well. I miss you. I’m starving. I love you,” she wrote.

However, Clapton had a passion for her and in 1970 he sent a letter to find out if she still loved her husband. This correspondence is also entered into next month’s auction.

“I am writing this letter to you, with the main objective of ascertaining your feelings regarding a subject well known to both of us. What I would like to ask is if you still love your husband?”, said an excerpt.

Clapton frequented Pattie’s house even when she was married. “If you want me, take me. If you don’t want me, please break the spell that binds me”, says another part.

Pattie and Eric Clapton married in 1979 after her breakup with Harrison. The divorce took place at the end of the 1980s. According to the publication, he authorized the sale.
