Amy Winehouse fans have been outraged by a clip from the much-anticipated biopic about the late singer’s life – released ahead of the film’s release in April.

In the clip from the film “Back to Black”, the protagonist Marisa Abela (unknown to the general public until now) plays Amy Winehouse at the beginning of her career, while she sings at the London club Ronnie Scott Jazz Bar.

Fans of the bereaved Winehouse were furious with the result, describing it as “deplorable” to “insulting”, according to the Daily Mail.

Some even commented on social media that lawsuits should be filed against the creators of the film.”

However, other users defended Abella, saying that any artist who tries to copy another, especially someone with vocal talents as unique as Winehouse, will never “be the same”.
