The song, the artist said, is about knowing what you’re getting yourself into, but persevering…
Dua Lipa she knows what she deserves and is ready to get it in her video clip for her new song “Illusion”. On Thursday, April 11, 2024, Lipa, 28, released the third single from her highly anticipated upcoming album, “Radical Optimism”, along with its video clip. The clip was shot in Barcelona, Spain.
In a statement to “People,” she said the piece is “to know what you’re getting into, but also to be patient sometimes for the fun of it. The joke is the fun of playing someone at their own game, because eventually you won’t fall for an illusion.”
The track is what Lipa said “broke the ice” for the new album, as it was the first time she worked with collaborators Caroline Ailin, Danny L. Harle, Tobias Jesso Jr. and Kevin Parker.
The single is the perfect complement to her upcoming album, which, according to the press release, touches on “the pure joy and happiness of having clarity in situations that once seemed impossible to face.”

The project has been in the works for a long time, as Lipa already shared that she started working on it in 2021 during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in February.
“I started writing for this album in 2021 and I just wanted to record my ideas. So I went and bought a random notebook. If I had known how important this notebook would be, I might have gotten a fancier one.”he then told the host.
