Suspect of mistakenly killing former Globo child actor surrenders to police

A week after the death of João Rebello, a former Globo child actor, one of those suspected of mistakenly murdering him handed himself in to the Bahia police.

Authorities say the man presented himself at the police station accompanied by a lawyer. “With a preventive arrest warrant decreed on the 30th, he was heard and arrested, remaining in custody at the disposal of the Justice”, said the agency in a note sent to F5.

Last Tuesday (29), the state’s Civil Police identified one of the suspects involved in the death and stated that the musician was murdered by mistake.

Rebello, 45, was found with gunshot marks inside the car, last Friday (25), in Trancoso. He was the nephew of director Jorge Fernando (1955-2019) and currently worked as a music producer and DJ for music videos and used the name Vunje.

At the station, he acted in plots such as “Cambalacho” (1986), “Bebê a Bordo” (1988), which can be seen on the Viva channel, “Vamp” (1991), “Deus nos Acuda” (1992) and “Zazá” (1997).

In “Cambalacho”, lived Maneco, one of Naná’s (Fernanda Montenegro) adopted children. He has also worked with Tony Ramos, another big name in dramaturgy, in “Bebê a Bordo”.
