Imagine your life purpose to change completely from time to time. And more than once. This is what happened to actor Pedro Caetano, 42, who can currently be seen as Matias in “Back over”, where a love triangle with Madá (Jessica Ellen) and Jão (Fabrício Boliveira) lives.
At age 18, he began his life as a model after being discovered by a photographer in the middle of the street, who went to his house, in the suburb of Rio, convincing his family that he was the way for the thing. And it really took it. “I lived in New York, I had seasons in Milan, Paris, London and Brazil,” he says.
He was “shaping” until he was 25, when he decided to focus on his studies. Passionate about the exact sciences, he attended mechanical engineering, but also gave up halfway. So it went to do math. It also locked the enrollment.
Pedro was not yet clear what he wanted to do his life, he was following his intuition, betting on what he liked to do. And the second degree was closed when he met the project NOS Morro, Vidigal’s theatrical group, in the South Zone of Rio, where stars such as Babu Santana, Thiago Martins and Roberta Rodrigues passed. Caetano entered in 2003 and, touché!, Discovered the true vocation.
“The unusual was that I really had the dream of being a hunting pilot of the Air Force,” he says, adding another possibility to his varied menu of possible professional choices. “My family on the part of his father is all military, my grandfather was a high patent of the Army. At the time, the issues of honor, values, stability and security guided my creation,” he recalls.
The actor even took tests to one of the Aeronautics cadet schools, but did not pass through. According to him, it was “the universe speaking” to move on in the dramaturgy.
The theater even was liberating for him to “change the key” from a stricter creation to a more open and human look. He even rethought a conservative masculinity.
“I was in a comfort zone, and the theater opened doors and my gaze to the world. It helped me as a man, partner, father, friend. I studied at Pedro II College and everyone wore uniform with shirts inside my pants, shoe shy, leather belt. It was normal like that, and the theater broke it.”
Carioca Pedro Caetano says he has a girlfriend and a 10 -year -old daughter, Alice. She lives with her mother in Sao Paulo. It also considers Julia, 12, daughter of his girlfriend. He defines himself as very homely (“I’m Cancer with Cancer Ascendant”), and in his spare time, he likes to skate and run.
“Sport has been part of my life since I understand myself. I started at 12 years old doing jiu-jitsu and then I was becoming a skateboarder. I was amateur competitor. I have been a capoeira master for 25 years and I have a racing group with other celebrities, such as actor David Junior,” he comments.
For 2025, Caetano has other projects. In addition to the soap opera, it can be watched in theaters in the movie “Cancer with Virgin Ascendant”, which will premiere next Thursday (27). It will also be in the second season of “DNA of Crime” (Netflix) and in the new horror “Reincante” (Globoplay), with Taís Araújo in the cast.
And there is still expectation for the personal dream of driving. The actor says that Morro’s knots directed him to be a complete artist. “I see the world of various perspectives, either by producing, singing, dubbing. There is a documentary that I recorded by the cell phone about capoeira and that was not released, but I will put in festivals.”
