Before acquiring today’s name, Piraeus was known as Porto Leone. This is how the Venetians called the largest port in Athens, inspired by the impressive marble lion standing at its entrance. The imposing statue, over two meters high, has been the unmistakable guard of the port for centuries. This lion was not only a symbol of power and protection, but also the element that gave the port the name “Porto Leone”, that is, “the port of the lion”.

Another Porto Leone, a cabaret in Trouba, is the reference point of Alpha’s new drama series, “Porto Leone – in the neighborhood of red traffic lights”. The heroes of the new series that will take us to 1964 are rooted there. And there, on the surrounding streets, in Piraeus, they breathe and live in light lives that carry and hide loneliness, secrets and passions.

Recently the channel has made a beautiful gathering to introduce to the media the main setting of Trouba that will star in the series. In fact, its main protagonists spoke to Happy Day’s camera giving a little cheese for their roles.

Vassilis Bisbikis plays a police officer involved in Troumba, Alekos Syssovitis makes businessman Elias Kapetanakos, owner of the cabaret, with wife Alexandra Aka Marina Aslanoglou.

In the series we will also see Clelia Renesis, Antonis Karystinos, Stavros Svigo, Michalis Aerakis, Dimitris Serfa, Christina Mathioulakis and Isabella Foulopolis.

Interestingly, Stamatina Tsimtsilis in the closure of her show revealed that producer Yiannis Karagiannis promised her a passage from the series and of course we will be patient until the new season to see it!

“He has told me that he is preparing a role, a pass!” He said characteristically.
