Felipe Neto talks about water and electricity bills: ‘Imagine for the rest of the country’

by

Entrepreneur and digital influencer Felipe Neto, 34, revealed in a series of stories posted on his Instagram how much he pays on his water and electricity bills at his mansion. What motivated this was a follower’s request for the influencer to pay his energy bill, which would have gone from R$150 to R$350.

Neto, however, said he is not complaining about how much he pays. “It’s to show the reality that is happening all over the country”, justified the businessman.

“It’s not complaining about the value of mine. I would pay three times the value of my electricity and water bill if that would lower the price for someone poor. The problem is that it increased for everyone […]”, continued.

Even before revealing the figures, Neto spoke about the cost of living in general in the country: “I don’t know how people are living in Brazil anymore. I really don’t know how people are managing to survive with the cost-Brazil, the cost to be alive in Brazil”.

The influencer’s most recent water bill was BRL 5,249.18. Electricity, on the other hand, reached R$ 9,085.54 in February.

Asked where he would spend so much water, he revealed that it is to water the plants outside the house.

A follower even suggested that he use solar energy to lower his electricity bill costs. He revealed that he already has solar panels in his home: “Imagine how much it would cost if you didn’t,” he commented.

Neto also defended progressive tariffs, so that those with greater ability to pay pay more than those who do not.
