Another important step for the film documentary “Takis.”, Which traveled outside the border to Los Angeles, at one of the most famous film festivals, the Los Angeles Greek Film Festival (Lagff)! On Saturday, May 31, at the Landmark Theatres Sunset, the fascinating story of Takis Prostakis and the Takis Shelter refuge, which left no one unmoved.

The film documentary “Takis.” It presents the story of Takis, a former owner of disco, who sacrificed everything to rescue stray animals in a documentary of her Helen Alafouzoudirected by Michalis Roubi and her scenario Anna Podara.
After selling his nightclub in Ierapetra, Takis finds abused dogs in a garbage dump and decides to take care of them. The more stray he finds, the more he is involved. The local community considers him crazy, his family takes him to a psychologist, his responsibilities are growing up until he … bankrupt. And then, a miracle happens!
Today, it has created a standard animal shelter, from which 2,500 distressed dogs have been saved and 1,500 have been adopted, mainly abroad. His willingness to do the good has created an avalanche phenomenon. On social media is a viral symbol of hope that touches on hearts of people all over the world While volunteers come to help him from all parts of the globe. As it lifts the burden of this responsibility, it at the same time raises questions and relief to the local community.
