What the EODY report showed – Significant increase in Agios Nikolaos (184%), Larissa (49%), Volos (46%) and Thessaloniki (34%)
Alert for the explosive increase in viral load in her area Patras has been reported to the health authorities. According to the EODY weekly report, the wastewater “showed” a 400% increase in the viral load in Patras, while significant increases were recorded in Agios Nikolaos (184%), Larissa (49%), Volos (46%) and Thessaloniki (34%). On the contrary, Athena shows a marginal decrease (-6%).
In more detail, the conclusions of the EODY from the data of the last week:
During the week of September 19 to September 25, 2022, increasing trends were observed relative to the week of September 12 to September 18, 2022, in the weekly average viral load of SARS-CoV-2 in municipal wastewater in seven of the twelve (7/12) areas that were checked by the National Wastewater Epidemiology Network (EDEL) of EODY, downward trends in three of the twelve (3/12) areas and stabilization in two of the twelve (2/12) EDEL areas.
Increasing trends in the average weekly load of municipal wastewater were observed in Patras (+398%), Agios Nikolaos (+184%), Larissa (+49%), Volos (+46%) and Thessaloniki (+34%) , while the increase observed in Chania (+23%) and Ioannina (+27%) was marginal. Downward trends, which were marginal, were observed in Corfu (-26%), Alexandroupoli (-22%) and Heraklion (-11%). Stabilizing trends in the average weekly load of municipal wastewater were observed in Xanthi (-9%) and Attiki (-6%).
