Meet Lucy, 36 (Photo: matrixpictures.com.au/)

Welcome to the weekly series to explore the details of renting.

Last week we were in Kenning Town, London. There, Oriana, owner of a yoga studio, rents a one-bedroom apartment.

Today we are on the other side of the world with Lucy, 36, renting a one-bedroom apartment in Bonbeach, Australia.

Lucy is a writer and book blogger for The Literary Edit.

He has lived in Bond for nearly seven years, staying in Los Angeles and Bali for three months, returning on many trips to England (his hometown) along the way.

This is what Lucy rents:

Hi Lucia! How much do you pay to live here?

Rent is $2,172.62 (£1,186) per month and averages $150 (£85) per month including gas, electricity and internet.

And what do you get for what you pay?

The apartment has a total of 4 rooms: a large open kitchen, living room, bedroom with a double bed, bathroom and my favorite room: a sun room with beautiful windows ideal for reading.

What I'm renting: Lucy, $2,172 a month in a one-bedroom apartment in Bondi Beach, Australia, Lucy is reading Rachel Kaski's book.

Do you think it’s a good deal?

I know a lot of people think that Bond is expensive, but I think it’s too much compared to what you can buy for the same price in London.

I am very satisfied with how beautiful the apartment is and the good location.

Where is your house? What do you think of the district?

I love living in Bond, a 10 minute walk to the beach. I can’t get enough of seeing the rising sun every morning, and it’s a very safe and beautiful house.

I’m close to most of my friends, from endless coffee shops to yoga studios and bars to my second home, Gertrude and Alice. Gertrudeand Alice is a Bond Literature Salon and cafe fashion bookstore I feature. visit. Most days.

Who lives here? Would you like to rent or share alone?

A few months before my boyfriend Nico didn’t move in with me, I’ve been living here alone for almost two years.

How did you find the apartment?

A friend of a friend knew the owner who lived across the street from me.

I wasn’t looking for my place when I started looking, but when I saw the beautiful hardwood floor and window seats, I immediately made an offer.

What did you think of this place at home?

Books, books and other books. Given the space, the white walls and the wooden floors, I was very lucky because it was a kind of blank canvas that was very easy to stamp.

I already had some furniture and one of my best friends, Ella, had a bookcase in my living room when she added shelving to my old apartment.

Fortunately, when my boyfriend moved out, the last seat was decided and it wasn’t a big deal, so I managed to talk a little more about his appearance.

Was it difficult to decorate during the rental? Are your owners happy with your work?

I was very happy with how it looked and I already had hooks for my various paintings, so I didn’t have to do a lot of decorating. If you want to give a new tint, it sure doesn’t matter.

Do you think you have enough space?

Yes, I think it’s a nice and spacious apartment, but sometimes I feel like I don’t make the most of the space because I’m naturally attracted to the solarium, from reading to dining.

Is there something wrong with the house that you have to deal with?

any.

Do you have any plans to move again?

Our lease was up in September and my boyfriend and I are considering looking for a two bedroom apartment. This is because one person has a much better design than a partner. This means you have no real privacy or escape from others as you have to go through each room to access other rooms.

I’m tired of standing in front of me. The alarm clock rings at 4:45 am every day, so you can read it for an hour before you go for a walk. Nico is convinced that he wanted to go from the bedroom to the kitchen without going back to the solarium. .. I have a cup of tea and my iPhone torch every morning!

Have you ever wanted a place if you were willing to rent it?

I have seats in my rented sisters Jojo and Salisbury so I’m really happy now.

Also, since I moved to Australia, I had a visa problem, so I’m not sure where I live in the world, so for now, hiring really suits me!

Looking around?

Yo Rento is a weekly series that airs every Tuesday at 10 pm.

Come back next week and have another sniff around the rental property.

How to join what I owe

I rent a weekly series that takes you to the places that people rent and helps everyone better understand what is normal and how much we have to pay.

If you would like to get involved please email [email protected]. You should take photos of the bedroom and living room, as well as photos of the kitchen, living room, bathroom, and bedroom.

Get the permission of your compatriots! This is so important that you also have to pay the amount you pay for your rent.

By the way, we are not just looking for a beautiful place. We want the reality of hiring, so if you’re renting a place you don’t like right now, we’re happy to see it (and will be very understanding!).
