Burger King employees received more than 8,108,000 donations from strangers after receiving a “dismal” gift for working there for 27 years.
Kevin Ford, a 60-year-old Burger King employee from Nevada, never missed a change in his life and started working for the company as a single father, with custody of his first two children.
In a video posted online, viewers received a movie ticket, a bag of candy, a cup of coffee, a tray and some pens as a “thank you” gift for Kevin’s many years of service.
The clip quickly went viral and people were shocked at Kevin’s loyalty to his job at the Las Vegas Airport branch of the fast food business.
“There are people I’ve been working with for 20 or 30 years and they haven’t gotten anything. I’m happy with everything,” Kevin told NewsNation Now.
Kevin was happy with his gift, but they weren’t online. Many called this offer “depressing” or “uncomfortable”.
One social media user commented that Kevin deserves a “fully paid trip.”
In response to a stranger’s reaction, Kevin’s daughter Serena created a GoFundMe page to give him the right gift.
The kindness of the people was so great that 4,000 donations were made for a total of $133,000 (8 108,000).
Kevin says that he was “full” of presents.
“I’ve been crying for three more days. I don’t believe myself. I really can’t,” he explained.
Kevin said he was confused because he hadn’t missed a day of work in his life.
“I don’t know myself. I don’t know how I did it! Maybe I’m a robot? I just never thought about vacations.” I’ll do what I can, I will. saying,” he explains.
Kevin’s daughter shared that he kept working at Burger King for health insurance.
Meanwhile, the growing support for Kevin surprised the family.
“I came here for dinner without crying! You are a very special person,” Selina said in an update last Friday.
“I seriously don’t believe it. You’re changing her life! Thank you! Thank you over a million times!!!!”
Kevin says that he is looking forward to resting for a while now.
