(News Bulletin 247) – The German professional software specialist SAP announced on Thursday that it was going to integrate IBM Watson artificial intelligence tools into its ‘cloud’ offers.

The Walldorf group explains that it plans to use the functionalities of the Watson platform to power its digital assistant within the ‘SAP Start’ process.

With this option, users of its software packages will be able to search, launch and interactively use applications provided by SAP’s ‘cloud’ solutions, in particular for the SAP S/4Hana ERP suite.

The functionalities of this digital assistant will then be extended to all SAP solutions in order to help users answer various questions.

The idea is to automate and accelerate common tasks, so as to promote the productivity of employees so that they focus on tasks deemed more strategic.

Beyond natively integrating IBM Watson’s AI capabilities into SAP solutions, SAP and IBM plan to cooperate on generative AI and large-scale languages for SAP’s suite of mission-critical applications .
