Western Greece, Thessaly and the Ionian are currently affected by bad weather Genesiswho has put in alert Civil Protection of the country.

The effects will extend to the rest of the mainland, at North Aegean and the western parts of Crete. According to the latest meteo estimates of the National Observatory of Athens, intense weather conditions expected:

– Until noon in Central and Western Sterea and Thessaly.

– From noon to the early evening hours today in the eastern parts of Thessaly and in the western parts of Central Macedonia.

– From the early evening hours to the early hours of Saturday in Central Macedonia.

Then until Saturday morning the phenomena will present temporary weakening. Hailstorms are expected mainly in the coastal areas of the central and northern continents, in the Ionian and North Aegean.

In the Aegean, south winds of 4 to 6 beauforts will prevail, but at noon and in the afternoon they will show a temporary small reinforcement, reaching 7 beauforts locally in the North Aegean and in the southern parts of the Saronic and Southern Evia. In the Ionian the northwest winds will reach 4 to 5 Beaufort.
