Two dead and four injuredincluding the three policemen, is the tragic account of a traffic accident, involving three cars and a herd of wild boars, which occurred around 11:30 last night, at the 62nd km of Nea Thessaloniki – Neo Petritsiou National Road.
A patrol car with a 42-year-old policeman as a driver and two of his colleagues (44 and 36 years old) as passengers collided with a passing herd of wild boars and deviated from its course. Then, a vehicle driven by a 56-year-old foreigner (a citizen of North Macedonia) with a 50-year-old female passenger, collided with the same herd, swerved and overturned in an adjacent field.
Subsequently, another vehicle, with a 53-year-old local driver and a 48-year-old passenger, collided with the official vehicle, as a result of which both occupants of the third car lost their lives. Injured are the 50-year-old female passenger of the second vehicle and the three police officers, who are being treated at the Kilkis General Hospital.
The Kilkis Traffic Department is conducting a preliminary investigation into the causes of the accident.
