A memorandum of cooperation for the teaching of the Greek language to refugees was signed by the Deputy Minister of Immigration and Asylum, responsible for integration, Sofia Vultepsiand the rector of the National Kapodistrian University of Athens, Meletios-Athanassios Dimopoulos, in the presence of the vice-rector of Academic Affairs and Student Affairs, Dimitris Karadima.
As stated in a relevant announcement, the Ministry of Immigration and Asylum will cooperate with the Greek National University of Education and Culture to promote the language education of citizens of third countries with an immigrant and refugee background, in the context of education programs for their integration into society and the economy.
EKPA will put its know-how and human resources at the service of this common goal, training specialists in the teaching of Greek as a second language, evaluating curricula and educational materials for formal and non-formal education and putting at the service of the common effort the Greek Language School.
As part of this collaboration, a postgraduate study program will be created, as well as other educational activities.
