The parents of the 25-year-old, who died as a result of a beating he allegedly suffered in the Department of Recovery and Rehabilitation of Children with Disabilities in Thessaloniki “O Agios Dimitrios”, where he was treated, filed an indictment against anyone responsible at the Thessaloniki Prosecutor’s Office.
In the indictment, the parents of the 25-year-old demand that the circumstances of their son’s death be investigated and that those responsible for his loss be punished by actions and omissions. In fact, they provided photographic material which, as they claim, captures abusive behavior against the 25-year-old in the past, within the same institution.
There were three other indictments for the same incident, one by the Deputy Minister of Labor Domna Michailidou (before the Prosecutor of the Supreme Court Vassilis Pliotas) and two by the president of the Social Welfare Center of the Region of Central Macedonia (KKPPKM) request that the circumstances of the patient’s death be clarified.
The 25-year-old died on November 29, one day after being transported to Papanikolaou Hospital in Thessaloniki and after the beating he allegedly suffered. According to the forensic findings, his death is attributed to cerebral hemorrhage and myocardial ischemia, while the results of the toxicological examinations are pending.
