Tomorrow the mayors of the two big cities will inaugurate a park in Istanbul
Within the framework of the initiative of the Balkan Cities Network (B40 Balkan Cities Network Summit), the mayor of Athens Kostas Bakoyiannis is expected to meet today and tomorrow in Istanbul, with his Turkish counterpart Ekrem Imamoglou.
Particularly, in January, Athens will host the first session of the B40 Balkan Cities Network Summit which was created at the end of November ’21 at a founding meeting in Istanbul.
The purpose of the network is to strengthen cooperation in the fields of culture, sustainable development, economy and innovation, as well as to strengthen peace and democracy in the Balkan region.
In view of the meeting in Athens, the Mayor of Athens Kostas Bakoyannis and the Mayor of Istanbul, Ekrem Imamoglou, will have a preparatory meeting today in Istanbul.
The next day they will jointly inaugurate a new park which will be named “B40”.
Specifically, the meeting of Mr. Bakoyannis and Mr. Imamoglu will take place today, Saturday, November 5, from 18:00 to 19:30, at the Istanbul Planning Agency Florya. The opening of the park will take place tomorrow, Sunday, November 6, from 15:00 to 15:45 at Bakirkoy Costal Area with the speeches of the two mayors.
