The 10 new models on the car market

by

We have selected the most important car models that aspire to win the favor of buyers, putting forward elements such as efficient powertrains and state-of-the-art technologies in comfort, safety and connectivity.

Alfa Romeo Plug-In Hybrid
After the launch of the first compact SUV in the history of Alfa Romeo, the famous Tonale, it is time to add those editions which will enrich its range and expand the options available. Among them stands out the plug-in hybrid version of the Italian SUV, which is going to be placed at the top of its range, standing out both for its dynamics and efficiency. Combining the operation of a turbocharged petrol engine with a powerful electric motor, which is mounted on the rear axle and drives the rear wheels, forming a unique all-wheel drive system. Although the combined power of the Tonale Plug-In Hybrid has not been announced, it is expected to reach even 240 hp, giving fans of the Italian brand an additional incentive to acquire an SUV that has already stood out for its stylish design and capabilities on the asphalt.

BMW X1

In its third consecutive generation, the BMW X1 extends the Bavarian dynasty in the SUV category, creating new design standards – and not only that. But aside from its admittedly attractive design, BMW’s small and medium-sized leisure vehicle presents a number of innovative features and features that give it the title of favorite in its category. Indicatively, we mention that in the basic configuration it is offered with the mild hybrid gasoline set, with a capacity of 1.5 liters and a performance of 156 hp. At this point we should note that the third generation of the BMW X1 will be offered in plug-in hybrid and purely electric versions, having a range capable of covering every requirement.

Citroen C5 X

With a length exceeding 4.8 meters and a semi-high architecture, the new Citroen C5 X has a way of standing out in the crowded crossover category and asserting itself when it comes time to compare it with its main competitors. However, the exuberant dimensions and the unconventional design are not the only elements that make the Citroen C5 X a unique proposition in the broader category of crossovers. Taking a quick look at the technical specifications of the French model, one can easily perceive the distance that separates it from proposals of similar size and style. Although at the base of its range we find the award-winning three-cylinder petrol engine with a capacity of 1.2 liters and an output of 130 hp, the plug-in hybrid configuration of the car reaches 225 hp and can offer the experience of driving a pure electric four-wheeler for about 50 kilometers. The difference, however, is made by the Advanced Comfort seats and the existence of suspensions with Citroen Advanced Comfort technology, redefining the definition of the famous French comfort.

Mercedes EQS SUV

The flagship of the electric range of Mercedes, known to all EQS, acquires another companion on the difficult path it has to travel. In this case, we are dealing with the EQS SUV, the third model in a row based on Mercedes’ new electrified platform. With a length exceeding 512 cm, the EQS SUV promises a mouth-watering experience inside, whether you are behind the wheel or enjoying unprecedented comforts inside. In its range, the EQS SUV houses three power versions, two of which are four-wheel drive. In particular, the “basic” version is offered with 361 hp. Another electric motor is added to the four-wheel drive versions, expanding the combined power up to 545 hp. All three versions are equipped with a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of almost 108 kWh, with autonomy ranging between
507 and 660 kilometers.

Mazda CX-60

mazda

The first plug-in hybrid implementation in the history of Mazda was supposed to be the top proposal in the current range of the Japanese brand. The reason, of course, is the CX-60, an exuberant SUV in dimensions and specifications, which aspires to break the German establishment in the large SUV category with its special character and the non-negotiable values of a “made in Japan” four-wheel drive. The first and last word in the case of the Mazda CX-60 has the hybrid total of 327 hp, which combines a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter engine with an electric motor, ensuring the performance of a pure-bred sports car in the Japanese SUV. Even more impressive, however, is the fact that, thanks to the 17.8 kWh lithium-ion batteries, one can travel up to 63 kilometers with zero fuel consumption and zero emissions. Otherwise, the cabin seals Mazda’s place among premium automakers, with the CX-60 having nothing to envy from the already predictable Germans.

Nissan X-Trail

The electrified Qashqai E-Power will not be the only new arrival in the Nissan range, as until the end of the year the Japanese brand will also have in its quiver the new generation of the X-Trail. Nissan’s largest SUV in Greece returns with three different powertrains, starting with the mild hybrid gasoline engine with a capacity of 1.5 liters and an output of 163 hp, which is exclusively combined with a continuously variable automatic transmission. A decisive step towards its complete electrification is the e-Power version, in which the movement of the Japanese SUV is taken over by a 204-horsepower electric motor, at the same time as a turbocharged 1.5-liter gasoline engine works as a generator, ensuring in real time the required electricity. In fact, this particular configuration is also offered with two electric motors – one on each axle – and a combined power of 213 hp, achieving excellent performance at almost all levels.

Nissan Qashqai E-Power

nissan

A rare display of technological superiority is for Nissan the well-known Qashqai in the electrified E-Power version. Not by chance, the latter is the top version in the range of the Japanese crossover, with the 190 hp electric motor providing explosive performance and the three-cylinder turbo engine acting as a generator, ensuring maximum efficiency in every situation. To be honest, the average fuel consumption figure is 5.3 litres/100 km and the carbon dioxide emissions do not exceed 119 grams per kilometer. Essentially, the Nissan Qashqai offers the driving experience of a purely electric four-wheel drive, with the autonomy and above all the ease of refueling of a conventional proposition.

Toyota Corolla Cross

corolla

In the best possible way, this year ends for Toyota, which opens another chapter in the successful history of the well-known Corolla. Our popular four-wheeler is now also recommended as a standard crossover, with increased ground clearance and a hybrid total of 197 hp, which is offered in both two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations. Larger in size and clearly more practical than the acclaimed C-HR, the Toyota Corolla Cross is aimed at those for whom usability and efficiency are priorities, without this of course meaning that it will disappoint those who demand more from their car. The 197-horsepower hybrid unit combines the operation of a naturally aspirated gasoline engine with an electric motor, but in the case of four-wheel drive versions there is also a second electric motor, which takes care of driving the rear wheels without changing the final power output of the Japanese combination. In the middle of next year, however, the Toyota Corolla Cross will also get a 1.8 liter version.

Renault Austral

renault

The moment of the long-awaited successor to the Renault Kadjar is approaching, returning the French to the heart of the SUV category. The Austral, as it is called, reaches a length of 4.51 meters, ensuring the necessary distances from the acclaimed Captur but also laying the foundations for creating an extremely practical and spacious proposal. If we had to single out one element of the body design, it’s undoubtedly the headlamps and their eccentric shape, but the big news comes from the technical specifications, be it the new powertrains or the steering system and suspension. In terms of engines, the most interesting is the new 1.2-liter mild hybrid gasoline engine, the output of which will reach 130 hp. From there, the E-TECH hybrid versions will be offered in two power versions of 160 or 200 hp, combining high performance with equally impressive efficiency.

Volkswagen ID.BUZZ

volkswagen

The attempt to revive another legendary model from its glorious history is attempted by Volkswagen, this time choosing the already distinct category of passenger vans to unfold its neo-retro culture. The reason for the above is the ID.BUZZ or, if you prefer, the modern version of the legendary Volkswagen T1, which also became known as “Bulli”. The ID.BUZZ, as its name indicates, belongs to the Volkswagen family of electrified models, giving a different dimension to the German effort to completely change the balance in favor of zero-emission vehicles. Beyond its sparkling design, the ID.BUZZ stands out for its practicality and the 204 hp electric motor, which is mounted on the rear axle and connected to the rear wheels. In turn, the lithium-ion batteries with an energy capacity of 77 kWh ensure a range of 421 kilometers.
