The natural resources “Water of the Municipal Spring of Lisbori” and “Spring of Baths of Pantelidis “Ippokrates”” were included in the list of the Ministry of the Environment
By a Joint Ministerial Decision of the Minister of Environment and Energy Kostas Skrekas and the Deputy Minister of Tourism Sofia Zacharakis, the natural resource “Water of the Municipal Spring of Lisbori”, Municipality of Western Lesbos, is recognized as a thermal spring.
In addition, by decision of the Head of the General Directorate of Tourism Policy, Panagiotas Dionysopoulos, the natural resource “Pigi Loutron Pantelidis “Ippokrates””, Municipality of Nisyros, is recognized as a thermal spa.
The Deputy Minister of Tourism Sofia Zaharakis stated that “two more natural healing resources are recognized, and they are added to the 80 already recognized throughout the country. The Ministry of Tourism, in cooperation with all relevant ministries, agencies and local communities, prioritizes the development of alternative forms of tourism, and especially spa and wellness tourism,” said the deputy minister.
In fact, the competent ministry has also earmarked funds of 28 million euros in the Recovery Fund program, for sustainable infrastructure projects in the thermal springs.
