In all branches of the Ark of the World throughout Greece the investigations of the Economic Police will proceed, in order to check all financial data, transactions, collections and the general management of the finances of the Non-Governmental Organization.
Already, since the beginning of the week, the thorough investigation of the Financial Police officers has been underway in the structure of the Ark in Kolonos, while all the others will take their turn, such as those of Chios, Kalamata, Pogoniani. Already, as reported by astraparis.gr from Chios, a squad of police officers from the Chios security sub-directorate went earlier today to the premises of the Ark structure, in Aipos of Chios.
According to his information astraparis.gr, the investigation was carried out following a relevant order from the financial police, in the context of an audit of the finances of the Ark of the World.
As the Minister of Citizen Protection revealed yesterday, speaking to SKAI 100.3 Takis Theodorikakos the Financial Police’s control of the Ark of the World has been ongoing since Monday.
From the moment the public prosecutor ordered the Greek Police to investigate what was happening in this area, the police took statements, created a case file which was handed over to the Public Prosecutor. There is a strong message in this case. There are no first and second class citizens. There are no upper and lower tier citizens. We must all be equal before the law. The law applies to everyone.
Therefore, in this case too, whoever is the perpetrator and the culprit of any delinquent or criminal activity, if there has been one, will be found and brought to justice. So the Greek Police have completed one section and are awaiting further instructions from the investigative authority, from the Prosecutor.
As Mr. Theodorikakos characteristically said, the financial police have intervened on his orders and are conducting a general check on the financial management of the NGO.
