The causes of the tragic accident with the Greek bus in Bucharest are being investigated by the Romanian authorities. According to the latest information, one man died and many more passengers were injured and taken to five hospitals, as reported by the Romanian Ministry of Health.

According to information, there were two drivers on the bus, who were sharing the route. According to the same sources, there is a possibility that there was confusion due to the GPS system and they took the wrong route, choosing a road from which buses do not take.

As a result, the Greek bus dragged the height limiter that was placed on the road and the heavy object crushed the roof of the vehicle and the passengers who were sitting in those places.

“Key” to the circumstances under which the tragedy occurred in Romania, is the statement of the driver to the authorities.

The bus had started last Thursday evening from Larissa, Volos and Thessaloniki, and was destined for the Romanian capital, where he arrived at dawn.

The 22 injured were taken to two hospitals in the city, while traffic at the scene has been stopped. People from the embassy rushed to the hospitals.

It is noted that there have been other accidents at this point, after its inauguration in September.

According to sources cited by Romanian media, the bus driver passed a breathalyzer and drug test, and came out negative.
