The Minister of Citizen Protection stated that the distribution will be based on vacancies in organic positions
On January 20, 600 new special guards will head to all the police stations of Lekanopedi in Attica for daily patrols and dealing with crime, the Minister of Citizen Protection Takis Theodorikakos said today to SKAI 100.3.
He said the allocation will be made based on vacancies in organizational positions, as well as where there are greater needs.
Referring to Evros, he emphasized that in the first 9 days of January 2,000 illegal immigrants tried to cross into Greece.
He added that Greek police arrested 25 traffickers this week.
He reiterated that the government’s decision is to build a fence along the entire length of the Evros.
He emphasized that the construction of 35 kilometers at the central point is proceeding immediately, with a budget of 100 million euros.
He stated that within the next two days the joint ministerial decision on the financing of the project will come.
“The goal is to continue for the remaining 100 kilometers,” said Mr. Theodorikakos.
