The cargo ship M/V Glory ran aground in the Suez Canal near El Qadarah, a northeastern Egyptian city, and tugboats were able to detach the vessel shortly after, shipping agency Leth Agencies said on Twitter today.
The Suez Canal Authority continues their efforts to refloat M/V GLORY assisted by the three tugs – Port Said, Svitzer Suez 1 and Ali Shalabi.

The Suez Canal Authority announced that traffic in the strait has not been affected.
Twenty-one southbound vessels will continue their passage through the canal and minor delays are expected, the maritime agency added.
According to data from specialist websites VesselFinder and MarineTraffic, the bulk carrier in question is flying the flag of the Marshall Islands.
