ESIEA’s announcement:

The Board of Directors of ESIEA says goodbye with particular sadness to colleague Dimitris Maroulis, who passed away in the early hours of Tuesday, February 21, at the age of 59, after an uneven battle with cancer.

Dimitris Maroulis was born in Athens in 1964. After completing his high school studies and studies in journalism, in 1991 he started working at R/S “SKAI 100.4”, where he remained for more than 20 years. He worked, having the responsibility of the station’s news archive, since its establishment and at the same time the journalistic support of the SKAI radio and television broadcasts.

He was an excellent connoisseur of the archival material he had so methodically created over the years and always on hand to bring to light important audio documents and support journalistic broadcasts.

He collaborated mainly with Vassilis Koufopoulos’ show “Snapshots” but also with many others.

After his long-term collaboration with “SKAI”, Dimitris Maroulis worked at the radio station “Parapolitika 90.1”, where he was also responsible for the archive and production of broadcasts, as well as at the radio station “News24/7 88 ,6” where he presented the daily journalistic show “Look Who’s Talking”.

In recent years he worked at the Press Office of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport.

In 2015, together with his colleagues Vassilis Koufopoulos and Leonidas Saklabanis, they published the book “They Said Together – Anthology of Deception”, where Dimitris Maroulis did the in-depth research, looking for audio-visual material and texts from different sources, newspapers, internet, radio and television.

Dimitris Maroulis was a journalist who definitely still had a lot to give. Unfortunately, he passed away prematurely, leaving an unbearable void for his family, friends and colleagues.

The ESIEA Board of Directors expresses its condolences to the parents, partner and beloved daughter of Ilia and bids farewell to the distinguished colleague.

The funeral of Dimitris Maroulis will take place tomorrow, Thursday, February 23, in the morning, in a close family circle.
