The student and educational community of the private school where the brutal bullying against a 15-year-old took place has been disciplined. Six students tied him with fishing line around his neck and hands and abandoned him in an empty classroom.

The child returned to school and his lessons normally, as did those who bullied him.

Today the Administration of the private schools announced that the taking of the statements of the involved students and their parents as well as teachers has been completed and the matter will concern the Teachers’ Association of the specific High School, next Tuesday, April 11, where the involved students have been invited with the their parents, while the Sworn Administrative Examination requested by the Administration is also proceeding, in order to investigate any responsibilities of the teachers.

Alexandros Koptsis, General Secretary of Primary, Secondary Education and Special Education of the Ministry of Education, referred to the escalation of such phenomena, and to the platform for direct complaints from parents and students which is expected to be activated after Easter. It is included in the bill on violence that has already passed the Parliament: “It is a digital hub, where we have networking tools and services, we have training materials, we have a training system – to train all teachers, especially the staff at the beginning – we have good practices to be seen throughout the educational community and adopted.

Students can enter the platform either anonymously or by surname, and parents can only enter by surname and record the incident of violence and it will automatically go to the school’s action team and, at the same time, to the Action Team in each Education Department, i.e. 116 Education Departments. We will operate immediately after Easter, so there is still no such platform”.
