Handcuffs a 47-year-old man and his 15-year-old son, who through videos on Tik Tok “advertised” that they possessed and sold illegal fireworks, were stopped by the police in Thessaloniki.

According to the Police, at their home found and confiscated among others firecrackers, flares and torches.

The announcement of the General Police Directorate of Thessaloniki states:

Police officers of the Weapons and Explosives Department of the Thessaloniki Security Directorate, in view of the Easter holiday season, are carrying out targeted actions in order to prevent any illegal manufacture, trafficking, trading and use of pyrotechnics as well as causing accidents, damage to property and other dangerous crimes, with the main objective the protection of citizens.

In this context, police officers of the above Service, they found profiles on an online platform (TikTok) where various videos have been posted, through which both the possession of illegal fireworks and their sale via the internet are demonstrated. Subsequently and in execution of a relevant order of the Thessaloniki First Instance Prosecutor’s Office, skilled police officers succeeded and arrested the two people who happen to be users of the specific profile.

These are citizens of age 47 and 15 years old (father and son), against whom a case file was filed, as the case may be, for Legislation concerning “Regulation of issues concerning weapons, ammunition, explosives, explosive devices and other provisions”, Legislation “On flares and fireworks, “On the restrictions on the transportation of flares, sparklers and pyrotechnic children’s safes and taking measures to reverse the risks from the burning of sparklers and pyrotechnic children’s safes” and neglecting to supervise a minor.

In particular, after a search carried out in a house in the area of ​​Evosmos, the following were found and confiscated:

  • a total of (128) pyrotechnic constructions (firecrackers) of various types,
  • (3) fireworks (sparklers),
  • (1) pyrotechnic construction (smoke);
  • (1) pyrotechnic construction (16) pieces (sparklers),
  • (3) pyrotechnic structures (torches) and
  • a mobile phone device, corresponding to a telephone connection, which turned out to be the telephone connection with which the bill in question was made.

The related seized items will be sent to the H.E.E.B.E. for laboratory examination.
