For three felonies the founder and former head of the NGO are controlled Ark of the World father Antonios and his wifeabout the managing the finances of the organization’s structures.

The priest and the elder are called to give explanations as suspects of specific felony actsfollowing a relevant order from the prosecutor who has been investigating the financial affairs of the two auditees in the Ark of the World for months.

According to the order of the prosecutor’s office to the Financial Police, the couple of the former top management of Kivotos, is asked to give without trial testimony on the charges of disloyalty against the Organization, embezzlement and money laundering from illegal activity.

According to information, the crime of infidelity under investigation concerns an amount of 190 thousand euros which seems to have been spent by the couple on the purchase of a property in Pogoniani Epirus, the repairs made to it and the payment of the transfer tax. The property appears to have been purchased with cash at fair value.

The embezzlement for which father Antonios and the elder are asked to explain, concerns an amount of tens of thousands of euros that were found in the house where the couple lived. In said apartment, which belonged to Ark, but also in the lockers of the two checked, money, jewelry and gold pounds, with a total value of 467 thousand euros, were found. The public prosecutor checks whether the amounts under investigation and the manner of their disposal lead to the commission of the crime of money laundering.

After receiving the explanations of the founder and the elder, who was its president NGOtheir statements will be returned to the public prosecutor in order to decide whether there is evidence for the case to lead to a main criminal investigation or whether it should be closed by archiving.

Father Antonios is facing felony and misdemeanor charges brought against him following an investigation by the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office into allegations of sexual and physical abuse of children hosted in NGO structures.
