An occupational accident occurred last Sunday at noon at the Larissa University Hospital. The accident happened when a man electrocuted in the kitchen area.

The 65-year-old is being treated in the intensive care unit of the hospital’s Cardiology Clinic after initially being taken to the emergency room.

As Mr. Costas Larisis, member of the PGNL Employees Union and General Counsel of the Panhellenic Federation of Public Hospital Employees (POEDIN), reports to onlarissa.gr, the 65-year-old employee: “while trying to check the temperature on a heated device ben mary was electrocuted, there was probably a current leak in said device and his hands were thrown off at that moment. I talked to him when I went to visit him after the incident and he told me that at first he didn’t understand exactly what had happened, then he felt some arrhythmias and went to the emergency room. As far as I know, the man is in good condition, but he is still hospitalized.”

In addition, Mr. Larisis noted: “As a union, together with the doctors, we will look into the matter because we have been informed that there are some other problems in the kitchens, such as rusty boilers, and we will soon issue an announcement because all the issues that exist must be resolved, so that other similar incidents can be avoided” .
