One of the relics of the bohemian Vila Madalena, the Filial bar resumes its activities after staying the last 22 months with its doors closed at the risk of saying goodbye definitively to the São Paulo nightlife. The opening to the public will be on the 26th of January, Wednesday. On Tuesday, the 25th, an exclusive event for guests will be held.
The return also marks a new phase of the house, which now operates under the command of the Fábrica de Bares group, known for rescuing classics from the city, such as Bar Léo and Riviera – the latter, scheduled to reopen in February.
The place returns with renovation in the environment, but will keep the famous checkered floor. There is also something new in the kitchen, which now bears the signature of Romulo Morente, from the trendy bar Moela, with units in Vila Buarque and Pinheiros.
The menu maintains classics such as feijoada and chicken, but features creations such as duck coxinha, codfish cake, hot lamb hole and parmigiana tongue.
For drinking, the main bet is still the draft beer, which is now taken by Luana Bouve. A selection of cachaças and classic cocktails, prepared under the supervision of master Derivan, complete the alcoholic section.
Despite the news, the nocturnal vocation will not change, and night owls who sought shelter in the house can rest assured. Known for working late into the night, the venue will be open until 2am on weekdays and until 4am on Fridays and Saturdays.
