The applications that have been made on the first aid platform arogi.gov.gr, which now includes all the areas affected by the floods, amount to 9,864 finalized and 3,990 temporary, as informed by the Deputy Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, who emphasized that today the first payment of the financial support for household goods and basic needs, amounting to 6,600 euros for each household with a main residence.

As he mentioned, this is a payment within a few days, which has nothing to do with what has happened so far. A payment necessary, of course, for citizens and households that are tested. “So, more than 25 million euros were paid automatically, without any prior autopsy or declaration on the platform. Autopsies will follow”, he characteristically noted and added that they were paid, after a difficult cross-checking project by the AADE executives, in collaboration with the executives of the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection.

They were paid, to those beneficiaries resulting from this crossbreeding project” pointed out Mr. Triandopoulos and added that they have not been paid to all the residents of these areas, but to those who emerged after the process of crossing and checking the data, as deficiencies were identified in the data declared by the residents, and even the absence of a declared IBAN in the data submitted to AADE by the residents of these areas. For this reason The AADE, since yesterday, as the deputy minister said, has activated special offices in each DOU for the information and service of the citizens for the first aid platform.

At the same time, the autopsies and records from the levels of the General Secretariat for the Restoration of Natural Disasters and State Aid are proceeding at an intensive pace, said Mr. Triandopoulos, adding that already with the completion of today’s work of the levels, approximately 8,500 autopsies will have been carried out in every corner of the affected areas.

“It is our duty to stand by our fellow citizens. … I will not leave unless I make sure that people are healthy and safe,” said Ms. Agapidaki.

“I met an excellent young man, who intended to get married on Sunday and today their house is in the mud… We are by their side. Their lives may have been turned upside down, but it is important to continue the effort to stand… The Ministry of Health is a ministry of care. And my duty is to take care of the citizens, he said and added:

“I can get intense sometimes, but it’s because of the anxiety…. Our great anxiety is not to have cases…. That’s why citizens should go to the health services, if they show symptoms,” said the same.
