People and procedures in the IEP change after the uproar for the video of Prenatal Education

Following the revocation of the approval of the action of the “Hellenic Society of Prenatal Education”, the Minister of Education, Niki Kerameos, intervened to change the procedures for the approval of programs by the Institute of Educational Policy (IEP).

According to a relevant announcement, Ms. Kerameos requested “the immediate modification of the procedures and the strengthening of the control during the examination and approval of educational programs and actions, which are implemented outside the obligatory program schedule”, as well as “the re-examination of its executive potential” IEP participating in the approval procedures of these programs “.

In the above context, the following measures have already been taken by the Board of Directors of IEP:

At the procedural level, each relevant application by a body will be reviewed by at least two rapporteurs. This will be followed by an examination and control by the head of the Department and finally by the Board of Directors.

At each meeting of the Board of Directors, a maximum of 20 suggestions on applications will be considered.

The material of the applications for approval will be communicated to the members of the Board of Directors no later than one week before the meeting, during which it will be discussed.

Applications for program approval after the end of the previous school year will not be accepted.

In case of a request for re-approval of a training program or material, all material will be resubmitted, not just changes or additions.

There will be targeted training regarding the procedures and evaluation criteria of educational programs that are implemented outside the mandatory program schedule.

During the week, decisions will be made on positions of responsibility in areas of approval of these training programs.
