The Minister of Labor and Social Security, Adonis Georgiades, he stated: “I have always said that politics is an applied art and all that matters in the end is the result. The news that over 50,000 unemployed benefited from the active employment policies of DYPA within 2023, which is a record, it gives me great joy and impetus to work even more intensively and targeted, in order to create greater opportunities and more jobs for our fellow citizens. Our national goal of reducing unemployment below 8% in 2024, by creating new and well-paid jobs, is achievable and realistic.”
For his part, the governor of DYPA, Spyros Protopsaltis, noted: “Labor subsidy is a central pillar of DYPA’s active employment policies and was our main priority in the year that closes in a few days. Our job is to find work for the unemployed and staff for businesses. The 50,282 of our fellow citizens who either found a job or started a new business in 2023, through the actions of DYPA, is an incentive to continue with the same commitment to offer more opportunities to all those looking for work, utilizing the resources of the new NSRF, so that the reduction of unemployment can continue at an even faster rate”.
