THE researchin order to be detected “if there are responsibilities and if they should be attributed and to whom or whom” is already proceeding, stated the mayor of Ierapetra Manolis Frangoulisabout fatal injury of 17-year-old on makeshift motocross trackjust outside the city of Ierapetra.
“The procedures for the collection of data have begun and all the services including the municipality of Ierapetra, the Region of Crete and the Traffic Police are working together in order to arrive at an accurate conclusion on what happened and we had this tragic accident” said Mr. Frangoulis, adding that “we will do everything that needs to be done, in order to protect our young people, and to never have such a dramatic incident again”.
The local community of Ierapetra and beyond, is still shocked by the death of the 17-year-old who fell from a motorcycle, while jumping on the makeshift track, last Saturday afternoon.
In an atmosphere of deep pain and sadness, the funeral procession took place in the morning at the holy church of Agia Fotini, with relatives, friends, classmates, but also hundreds of citizens of Ierapetra saying goodbye to the 17-year-old boy.
