the theft firewood from gatekeepers of apartment buildings is the new “fashion” of “known unknown” gangs operating in Kalamaria.
According to relevant posts by residents of the area on social media, there are at least two related cases within a week, the most recent in the area of Nea Krini and the previous one in the area of Agios Ioannis.
In her area Nea Krini the theft took place during the night, without the perpetrators being noticed by those directly concerned, nor – as reported – by the neighbors, which is surprising, since according to the relevant testimony in a group of residents of Kalamaria on Facebook, the perpetrators they stole “about half a ton of wood”.
Kalamaria is one of its regions Thessaloniki with a very large number of apartment buildings that have apartments with fireplaces, especially those built in the 80s and later, while there are also a large number of two- and even three-story single-family houses also with fireplaces, and as a rule, the owners store their firewood in the fireplaces.
Also in Kalamaria it is recalled that in previous years a large number of thefts of metal doorknobs from the entrances of apartment buildings by “known unknown” gangs have been recorded.
