Most likely next Monday or Tuesday the meeting of the Thessalian farmers with the prime minister will take place – The tactic of low tone and understanding by the government is estimated to have brought the desired results

With the farmers planning the “next day” of their mobilizations and having passed the scope of the unprecedented descent of the farmers in the center of Athens without derailments and detours, the government is taking a wait-and-see attitude against subsequent moves.
For now, the tactic of low tones and understandingwhich was observed against the demands and mobilizations of the farmers, it is estimated that brought the desired resultsnot exacerbating the climate between the two sides and restraining any escalation or generalized continuation of the mobilizations.
Proposing the position that the demands of the farmers are fair, but for now there are no budgetary margins for further support measures, government officials estimate that it worked appeasingly even against the most “reactionary voices” and as everything shows, this attitude will continue in the next period.
As already photographed by the prime minister himself in his recent interview with STAR, the government is willing to reverse the pressure it receives from the rural world by transferring this pressure to Brussels. The prime minister is expected to take advantage of the farmers’ reactions to the new CAP, which coincide with the corresponding mobilizations and pressures of farmers in other European countries, in order to initiate a new debate on its realistic adjustment.
In the internal field, however, the avoidance of tensions and escalation of the crisis between the government and farmers is also helped by the mild attitude of the farmers, who also found out during their presence at the large agricultural rally in Athens, that avoiding tensions and extreme forms of reaction keeps on their side the great majority of public opinion, ensuring the acceptance and legitimization of their movements.
The next milestone, but only for the Thessalian farmers, who are a special case of reasons for the total destruction they suffered from the blow of the bad weather “Daniel” is expected next week, when probably next Monday or Tuesday the meeting of the Thessalian farmers with the prime minister will take placewho is away on an official trip to India.
Kyriakos Mitsotakis had accepted their request for a separate meeting with the Thessalians during the meeting he had last Tuesday with the members of the 15-member committee of the pan-Hellenic blocs at the Maximos Palace.
