His own “stamp” on the events organized by the Municipality of Patras today is Thursday this year, the Cultural Organization will start early in the morning with a series of actions, in neighborhoods and squares of the city.

An unrepeatable all-day extravaganza, a traditional feast that will unfold during the whole of Tsiknopemti, just as the custom of the day dictates.

Upper and Lower Town they will take on the intense color of authentic Halloween with satire, traditional music, teasing, wishes and of course barbecues and chicken giving and taking.

From 9 in the morning, the two musical floats will tour the schools of the Southern and Arctic Divisions carrying the Halloween tone.
From 12 noon, the street band “Sourlolou” from Athens will take over the action in the main streets. Starting at the New Town Hall (Arsakeio) it will tour the main streets and end up at Georgiou I square. Combining elements from rural tradition, with modern musical forms, “Sourloulu” will pour out with bagpipes, dauli, oud, clarinet, lute in a frenzied gypsy, carnival dance!

From 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. the party will be moved to the Upper Town (from Tabachana to Agios Georgios Square), an area that has been associated with the traditional aspect of the native Halloween. Carnival events and a parade will take place there with the participation of the Cultural Associations of Aro, Gerokomio, Agyia, Zavlani, Terpsi, Saravali, the Pan-Asian Association of Patras and the Surroundings, the Achaean Workshop, the Women’s Association of Agios Vasilios “The Group”, the Dance Department of Patreon Municipality and the Cultural Association “Gaitanaki – Bourani” of Tyrnavos.

They will revive traditional customs adapted to the conditions of the day and will perform the wedding of the bridegroom and the bride in an event, curated by the theater group of the Zavlani Cultural Association.

They will all go down together to the Lower Town, to George I square. There the Cultural Association “Gaitanaki-Bourani” of Tyrnavos will present a 20-minute show and at 21.30 the mayor of Patreon Kostas Peletidis and the regional governor of Western Greece Nektarios Farmakis will address greetings.

The celebration will culminate with a concert by the traditional Banda Entopica from Thessaloniki, which combines clarinet, saxophone, accordion, tambourine and voices.
