The establishment of a control and fine procedure for vehicles that have not passed a technical inspection in time (K.T.E.O.), is proposed by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, in collaboration with the Ministry of National Economy and Finance, within the framework of actions to strengthen road safety.
In particular, as stated in a relevant announcement of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, with a proposed addition to the ministry’s draft law of National Economy and Financea permanent, modern mechanism of electronic cross-checks is established, carried out by the General Secretariat of Information Systems and Digital Governance (GIPSPSD) of the Ministry of Digital Governance, in a massive and automated (digital) way, in synergy with the prescribed information systems and registers that are kept at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, in moving vehicles.
The purpose is to identify omissions and violations related to the obligation to carry out a periodic technical inspection K.T.E.O., so as to prevent the circulation of vehicles that pose risks to road safety, due to deficiencies in terms of technical competence and suitability their.
It is noted that in order to support this specific process, the possibility of additional support to the budget of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport from the State Budget is foreseen.
