The Ministries of Education, Religion & Sports and Digital Governance announce that from today, Tuesday 25 June, the submission of applications for the granting of the student housing allowance for the academic year 2023-2024 has started.

Beneficiaries can submit their application digitally either directly, through the page https://stegastiko.minedu.gov.gr/, or through gov.gr, in the category “Education” and the subcategory “Universities and studies”, until and Wednesday, July 31, 2024.

The application is accessed using Taxisnet codes of the General Secretariat of Information Systems and Digital Governance.

The beneficiaries

The electronic application for the granting of a housing allowance is submitted by the beneficiary of the allowance, i.e. the person who is considered to be the student, in accordance with the provisions of article 11 of Law 4172/2013 (A’ 167).

In the case of spouses who have submitted separate tax returns, the online application for the grant of the housing allowance is submitted by the only parent entitled to the allowance, who must have declared all the children who are dependent on him in his tax return (dependent members) so that the financial criterion is correctly formulated.

In the case of divorced or estranged spouses, the beneficiary of the allowance is the parent on whom the student is responsible and shows him as a protected member.

Exceptionally, the beneficiary will be the student himself if:

a) is an orphan from both parents or

b) his parents are foreign residents or

c) is over twenty-five (25) years old, i.e. born before 12/31/1997 or

d) is obliged to submit a tax return and is not considered a dependent member, according to article 11 of Law 4172/2013 (A’ 167).
