The Ministry of Education is trying to deal with financial illiteracy with an additional economics lesson
Kyriakos Pierrakakis announced at the 5th International Conference of the Greek Chamber of Commerce the decision of the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports to deal with financial illiteracy by introducing an additional course on basic financial figures and tools to the 1st High School.
The Minister of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports thus responds in the best way, both to the established need for young people to acquire a clear and strong relationship with the basic financial functions and financial tools, and to the permanent remarks of the Economic Chamber in all previous years about the from the outset and systematically educating young people in financial knowledge.
The decision was made public by Mr. Pierrakakis with his post:
“As part of my participation in the 5th International Conference of the Economic Chamber of Greece, I had the opportunity to present our plan to the Ministry of Education, Religion and Sports regarding financial literacy.
From September 2025, with an additional course on basic financial figures and tools in the 1st Lyceum and with a targeted enrichment of the Skills Workshops, students will acquire useful knowledge to face future challenges more effectively».
