Bases up in 38% of segments and down in 62%
An increase in 38% of the departments was recorded based on the statistics of the admission bases. According to the data released by the Ministry of Education, there is a drop in enrollments in high-ranking schools, an increase in the lowest-ranked ones.
The total number of candidates for selection amounted to 73,161 (61,985 GEL and 11,176 (EPAL) and overall, they were admitted to the HEIs, the Supreme Ecclesiastical Academies, the ASPAITE, the ASTE, the Military and Police Schools and the Academies of the Fire Brigade, the Merchant Navy and the Coast Guard 63,412 GEL and EPAL candidates.
More detail, the success rate of GEL candidates was 69.7% and the corresponding percentage of EPAL candidates was 37.61%.
It is worth noting that with the process of the Parallel Computerized Report, 21,511 applications were submitted and the successful ones reached 16,211, with a success rate of admission to SAEK at 75.36%.
The Departments of Music Studies of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the University of Ioannina and Athens recorded the greatest increase in the number of students. In more detail, the top three segments with the biggest increase are as follows:
