Motorists strike from 5am on Monday 9 September until the same time on Tuesday 10 September
Athens will be without taxis tomorrow, Monday, September 9, due to the 24-hour strike announced by the Attica Taxi Drivers Union (SATA), protesting against tax, insurance, e-mobility and unfair competition. Motorists are on strike from 5am on Monday 9 September until the same time on Tuesday 10 September.
On the same day, at 11.00 in the morning, at the Exhibition Center of Peristeri, a general meeting will take place.
In its announcement, SATA refers to a series of government decisions and important legislative omissions that clearly show the guidelines for the sector. Among others, the following are mentioned:
â–ª The new tax law leads us with mathematical precision to unprofitable work and financial ruin.
â–ª The insurance tightens the noose even more around our neck.
â–ª Unfair competition from private cars, multinational applications and piracy steals our highest quality transport work every day with the tolerance of the State.
And instead of the ministry providing solutions, Mrs. Kefalogianni issues clarifying circulars through the Ministry. Tourism that misinterpret the law and prevent the control authorities from confirming violations and imposing penalties.
